Excellence Award Details

Granted to top scorers on the placement test. Only available to students who test on December 5, 2026.

• Awarded at 8th Grade Graduation with permission from elementary school.
• Renewal Requirements: Maintain a 3.0 end-of-year GPA and follow all school attendance and handbook policies.
• Registration and Book fees not included; fees still apply.

President’s Award Details

Awarded to incoming students scoring in the top 10% on the placement test.

Principal’s Award Details

Awarded to incoming students scoring in the top 20% on the placement test.

Sisters of the Resurrection Details

As the founders of our school, the Sisters of the Resurrection still play a significant role in supporting the faith development and well-being of our students.

Awards go to those who score in the top 30% on the placement test.

Discretionary Award Details

Additional scholarships are given at the discretion of the school President, based on academic merit and family income.

Big Shoulders Fund Details

Our Lady of Tepeyac is a proud Big Shoulders Fund Plus High School. The Big Shoulders Fund supports schools to ensure students receive a strong academic foundation, enroll and persist in college, and lead productive lives as adults. Awarded based on need and at the discretion of the school President.

Catholic elementary school students have the potential to carry over their specific BSF scholarships into high school (contact your principal for assistance).

Other Requirements:

• Grades/Attendance reported quarterly
• Participation in Foundation events
• Annual College Symposium participation
• Potential for college scholarships upon graduation

Canning Foundation Details

Based on academic merit, demonstrated commitment to service, and family income. Given at the discretion of the school President and prioritizes families that send multiple daughters to Our Lady of Tepeyac.

Other Requirements:

• Grades and attendance reported quarterly

El Milagro Details

El Milagro, a wholesale food distribution and food services company located in the Little Village community, generously supports Tepeyac scholarships each year.

Awarded based on family income, academic merit, and community involvement at the discretion of the school President. Additional scholarships are available for children of El Milagro employees.

High School Bridge Details

HFS Chicago Scholars’ mission is to help economically disadvantaged Chicago high school students flourish in and out of the classroom by providing educational enrichment through academic excellence, college readiness, and lifelong mentoring programs, as well as providing financial assistance to attend top Chicago-area schools.

Madonna Foundation Details

The Madonna Foundation’s mission is to educate young women in the Chicago area in order to transform lives and launch bright futures by providing access to academic excellence at a single-gender Catholic High School.

The Foundation educates the whole person by instilling the Franciscan values of Respect, Dedication, Stewardship and Joy through dynamic programming and tuition support.

Application Information/Requirements

Florence Plinkos Details

Sponsored by the child of a St. Casimir High School alumna (original name of Our Lady of Tepeyac High School). Awarded to an incoming Freshwoman who is a first-generation American with an expressed interest in business, engineering, science, or technology.

• Renewable for up to four years ($1,000.00/year).
• Must maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA and adhere to all attendance policies.
• No application required; however, financial aid forms must be submitted by March 1 to be considered.
• Letter of recommendation from an 8th-grade teacher/Principal required due March 1: Letter of Recommendation Form
• Award announced: April 1 annually.

Joni Thompson Details

Awarded to an incoming freshman who demonstrates strong leadership potential and a commitment to the values of Opportunity, Excellence, Service, and Unity that define Our Lady of Tepeyac High School.

Honors Joni Thompson, longtime former President of Our Lady of Tepeyac High School, and her enduring belief in the power of Catholic, girl-centered education to form confident, compassionate leaders.

Renewal: $2,500 per year, renewable for four years. Application required by March 1.
