College Preparatory

One of our top education goals is to help our students get into the university of their choice. 95% of our students graduate, of which 98% go on to higher education. We know that once our students get to college, they continue to strengthen the voice they developed at Tepeyac. Our alumnae continue to tell us that graduating from an all girls high school gave them an advantage in the college admissions process, and that every dollar invested in a Catholic education was given back ten-fold in college financial aid or scholarships.

Honors Classes

We offer a flexible honors track to all qualified students, and AP English. Our small classes and leadership opportunities challenge our students, and give them the skills and experience to succeed after high school. We do require more credits to graduate (24), as well as four years of both math and science.

College Readiness Program

Tepeyac’s College Readiness Program helps prepare our young women for life after high school. Run by Becca Noonan and Nikki Conway, the program aims to help all students develop and practice the skills that are necessary for college and the workplace. We work closely with our freshwomen and sophomores to help them develop skills of academic success and set goals for theirfutures. We also work with our juniors and seniors to help them through thecollege application process. Each year, the juniors and seniors attend various college fairs and college visits, and the seniors work their way through College Boot Camp, a two-week-long program that leads them through the college application process. Once our graduates begin college, we continue to assist them as they make the transition from high school to college. We provide support in dealing with professors, roommates, and the financial aid office.

The students in the Class of 2009 were accepted to more than 66 different colleges and universities, and they earned nearly one millions dollars in grants and scholarships. 100% of the Class of 2009 will begin college in the fall. Our graduates are enrolled at such schools as the University of Chicago, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, St. Olaf College, St. Louis University, Marquette University, Loyola University, St. Xavier University, and University of Illinois at Chicago.
